Service and Quality Improvements
08th November 2007
I would like to explain some fundamental quality improvements that I have made to the service and prints provided by My Eye Photography.
COLOUR MANAGEMENT
I have recently invested in a colour management system. In basic terms this means that what I see on my monitor accurately depicts the colours (brightness, contrast etc) match the colours taken by my camera. This now means that rather than printing photographs from my printer at home, I am confident that when I send the images to a lab for printing they will accurately reproduce the images as they are intended.
The advantages:
• Greater tone and depth to the prints - higher quality printer used
• Fade resistant prints of 150 years (ink & paper rating of 150 years)
• Larger range of paper sizes and other formats
The disadvantage:
• I don’t get to quality check the print before its sent to you (sent directly from the lab)
To negate this disadvantage I have sent test prints to the lab. Each time the prints been produced to a high standard with a very quick turn around time.
If you have any quality issues with any of the prints please do not hesitate to get in touch with me and I will do my best to resolve them.
Note: Depending on what size print you order, the cropping of the final print may differ slightly to the image on the website i.e. the images on most sporting galleries cropped to an 8” x 6” ratio. If you order an A4 image (approx 8”x12”) the final print may include slightly more or less of the original image.
EQUIPMENT UPGRADES
I have recently upgraded two of my lenses, one for portraits and one for sports photography. These acquisitions have instantly improved the quality of the photographs I make and also increase my capability to take more shots by having 1) wider and more versatile portrait lens and 2) a longer lens for sports giving me more reach across a field or pitch etc.
If you have any question please let me know through ‘contacts’.
Regards
Steve
